Grand Launch of National Geographic Magazine Indonesia

Great News!, NG hadir dalam Bahasa Indonesia, bukan Bahasa Indonesianya sih yang asik, tapi kesempatan untuk membaca dan menikmati liputan berkelas NG mengenai Indonesia ku yang indah ini :D , tapi ngomong-ngomong lokal kontentnya berapa persen ya?, kalo cuman diterjemahin doang percuma dong, tapi gak mungkin ah, sayang gua gak diundang ke acaranya huehehehe.

The National Geographic Magazine Indonesia will be launched on Monday, March 28 2005 at Gedung Arsip Nasional, Jakarta.

The this particular event will be attended by approximately 400 VIP’s, including cabinet ministers, top companies CEOs, partners, non-government organization from local and abroad, scientific institutions, adventure and explorations institutions, scientists, explorers, adventurers and many more.

The grand launch, taking place from 6 pm, will also be attended by ambassadors from 28 countries, and also Terrence B. Adamson – the Executive Vice President of National Geographic Society, Washington DC. Rob Hernandez of National Geographic International Licensing, along with Amy Kolczak, the editorial director of international editions will also be accompanying.

National Geographic Magazine Indonesia, the 27th in international editions, will be rpesented by the honourable president of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

This edition in Bahasa Indonesia, will become a part of the only one truly global magazine in the world after Japan, Hungary, German, Korea, Taiwan, Poland, Italy, Thailand, Turki, Sweden, Russia, Kroatia and many other countries. Reaching more then 40 million readers every month, National Geographic Magazine Indonesia will be presenting the world and everything that is in it.

National Geographic Society was incorporated back in 1888 in Washington DC, USA. Since its birth, this world’s largest and oldest non profit organization has always been sponsoring research and explorations in all over the globe – and beyond, to increase and diffuse the geographical knowledge.

Since 1950’s, National Geographic Society has been sponsoring research and explorations in Indonesian soil. Granting a total of more then 2 million dollars and still counting. One of the most present is the late discovery of Homo floresiensis by Richard Roberts, Thomas Sutikna and Mike Morwood.
